Last Saturday was one of the best times I've had in quite some time, Met a bunch of new people. Some of them I knew already from online, others I'd only heard of before. The first annual NorthCoast blogger shoot was a blast to say the least! Thank you Breda, Heath, and Amanda for putting on such a great event. Thank you to everyone else for attending and making things so very interesting.

I'm only going to post one photo from it at this time as everyone else has covered that quite well... mostly because I've been a lame duck waiting a whole week to actually blog about it.

I filled out my third one today after walking in my favorite funshop, pointing at what I wanted, waited for the "proceed" and promptly paid for both the firearm as well as a box of Sellier & Bellot 92Gr. FMJ .380

We thanked each other, I headed out to my truck, opened the box, loaded the gun and placed it in my center console. What firearm did I purchase you ask?

Local area crime on the rise.

A student of UT was murdered this past weekend just off campus after telling the scumbag he didn't have change or cigarettes for him. The area where this happened is covered with security cameras, and "emergency call boxes" for students to use in such a matter. We should all know by now that no matter what, Protecting yourself by means of being armed is far better than relying on over-worked & understaffed police forces.

Just yesterday an officer attempted to pull over a suspicious vehicle. One of the passengers decided that shooting at the officer was a smart move. all four passengers of that vehicle are now in custody.

It's starting to look like Toledo is the new Detroit/Chicago when it comes to arson. The lady in the video is a friend & neighbor of mine, she's a great ally in getting to know local .gov officials and local officers.

PS: My other half keeps getting mad at me for stocking up on ammo... *sigh*

Times are tough, When more and more houses set empty, arsons and robberies go up. Every time I leave my home and know that no one else is there, I'm nagged by the feeling today just might be the day some desperate loser gets the itch to see what we have the he "needs" My only hope is that I'll be as lucky as this guy and return back home before he/she is gone. You ever feel that way? Or do you feel your neighborhood is plenty safe?

Not very long after I bought this house and was working steady on renovations, I made a run to the local hardware store less than half a mile from here and was back within fifteen minutes, Upon my return a young neighbor kid approached me to warn that someone from across the street had walked up to my home and had themselves a peek through my windows.

That pissed me off! I thanked her for the info and stopped all my work for the day. Which lead to me sitting on my enclosed porch (which at the time had our huge bathtub temporarily placed there till we could carry it upstairs...) laying out a piece of plywood on top of the tub for a makeshift table I got out my AR15, fully stripped it down and cleaned every "nook & cranny". Then after I was done with that the Mossy 500 was next. And when that was done with that I loaded them both back up and sat out there a while drinking a soda & smoking a couple cigarettes.

I'm not sure if that did it or We're just lucky, but so far not one shady fuckwit has messed with our stuff.

In my continuing mini series of local crime and the increase of home/property owners defending themselves from criminals is a update on the story of Sedric Joplin who wasn't indicted for his shooting of one man and the justified killing of another who broke into his home on Feb. 20th. of this year. Plus they finally found the third man involved in the robbery, He along with the gunshot survivor Michael Brown, Jr. will be charged with the murder of their accomplice Christopher Childress.

"Mr. Childress' family members have been outspoken about the charges, saying that they were disappointed in the grand jury's decision. Mr. Childress' mother, Jenny, said after Mr. Brown's indictment that she was upset that the "man who pulled the trigger" was not the one charged with the crime."

Well see the way this works Jenny is that Ohio has a castle law in effect. Your son chose to break a law by illegally entering a persons home, with the intent to steal. Sedric has every right to protect his property. Just as you have every right to spout off your ignorant mouth.

A family owned grocery store was broken into after hours, ATM latched onto with a chain and dragged to the parking lot where the would be robber discovered that he was no match for an ATM. Dumb ass! This took place in Maumee, A rather decent area, Which makes me laugh because of an overheard conversation sometime last year while in a store my other half and I heard an uppity chick telling her friend that she should move to Maumee because there is no crime. Ha!

And if you remember my two previous posts I discussed a robber/rapist on the loose. Sadly he wasn't killed, he was caught however.

And lastly, The biggest issue on everyone's mind is Obamacare. Besides having to deal with some very tough family issues I we have to worry even more about the future because most of our senators and representatives are choosing to ignore us screaming in their ears to vote no on this trillion dollar bill. I am glad however that even though I live in a libertard city there are plenty of people who feel the same way we do about Pelosi & company.

On my way to work tonight at a very busy intersection was approximately 75 people holding signs saying "kill the bill" etc. Also spotted was at least one Gadsden flag, Best part of all, While sitting at the light I heard numerous people honking their horns in support of them, Myself included.
(the little red blocks are the locations of where groups of the protesters were standing)

If they're still there tomorrow I'll get a picture, and maybe stop and talk to a few of them!

All over the US there has been a surge of people buying their first firearm for personal protection, As well as getting the proper education to know how to handle them. I'm seeing Toledo crime going up, while at the same time many of these crimes are being thwarted by legally armed citizens, many of them small business owners who would rather make the small investment of a handgun (and training) than have to fork over all their cash as well having peace of mind.

In my previous entry I discussed a robber/rapist on the loose and a store owner defending his shop from robbery by seriously wounding a would be robber.

Unfortunately I'm not writing today to tell you they caught the robber/rapist, or that he's been killed. He has been identified and a warrant is out for his arrest. Today's news is another bad situation turned good by yet another carrying member of society. This time a guy tried to rob a convenience store and ended up dead. they have yet to identify him. Either he was shot in the face, or times are so bad that more people are turning to crime and he's not in the system already.

Whatever the reason, crime is wrong and I'm very happy to see our law abiding community slowly letting these low life losers know that we're not going to give up without a fight!

Toledo, just like many other places is being hit with much more crime since the economy has gone to shit. We've got a backseat robber/rapist on the loose. Luckily they have identified who it is and have a much better picture of him than previously (store surveillance video) seen. I really hope he tries to rob someone who has their carry permit and that he ends up dead, rather than tying up our courts, and jail cells, eventually getting out and going right back to his old ways. If I see him on the street... Ugh people like that sicken me.

Here's some better news, another private citizen with their CCW has shot and seriously injured a would be robber at him and his brother's music store just yesterday. Allied Music in South Toledo is in a fairly decent neighborhood. But that doesn't stop the stupid people from entering it, just like how we all know that "no guns" signs doesn't keep a would be criminal from carrying into any location that has one.

Actually the guy fully meant to fire his weapon... he just didn't know that his muzzleloader had anything in it other than the percussion cap. Which makes him unsafe with firearms. Dwain Haggard of Montana, A superintendent was showing a class of students his gun when he placed a cap on it and aimed it and pulled the trigger, expecting only a pop of the cap igniting. He and the class got a loud bang and a hole in the wall.

No one was injured and because he's not from a nanny state it looks like he'll just go from this with experience (Hopefully of learning to check, double check and even triple check to make sure a firearm is not loaded before dry firing, Or in a presentation such as his) and the shame of having made an honest, yet fully avoidable "Oops"

I'd like to know what was loaded in his gun, and if it was from him, a student playing a trick, or possibly his own children if he has any. Best bet is that the last time he used it he loaded it and never put on a cap to fire, maybe he was target shooting and got rained out, forgot it was loaded.

All in all there is no excuse for this accidental discharge. checking and obeying the four rules of gun safety.

Just the other night less than five miles from where I live there was a break in at a mans home, Sedric A. Joplin was not home at the moment of the unlawful entry, But the criminals were still inside when he returned home. He fired at them and killed one, possibly hitting another loser as well.

Christopher Childress the loser who was rightfully shot in my honest opinion, is painted under a different light by his friends and family, They talk about him as if he was a good citizen and would never do such a thing, but the evidence shows that he broke in, And Ohio has a Castle Law in effect.

Now for the twist to the story I just discovered while writing this. It seems Mr. Joplin isn't so innocent himself, He had marijuana in his home. And this guys reported as an officer of the law... sort of, He's a correctional officer at a local prison.

Plus a second bad guy was caught. Michael Lee Brown is in custody. A third guy is still on the loose, I'm sure Michael Brown will rat him out in no time :)

I suppose the only good that comes of this story is a bad guy is dead, Guns still save lives and despite his unlawful drug activities Mr. Joplin was justified in shooting these guys. We'll see what happens with Sedric and his drugs.

And making assumptions can be very bad. most people consider .22 long rifle ammo to be the best choice for cheap plinking, And I agree. But what other uses does it get? Some minor varmint hunting, usually used to finish off a trapped coon or possum. And never suggested for home defense or self defense in general. I'd still say that is a good piece of advice, but just how much of a punch can those little .22lr rounds pack? Because most people would assume that those little rounds of ammo won't cause any harm to much more than a small varmint...

Well I decided to do a little testing. Rifle used was a model 67 Winchester single shot with 28" barrel
Ammo Winchester 37g JHP "super speed"
Distance 10 yards
Target - steel sheet (.042") backed up by aluminum plate (.2")

I set the steel sheet and the aluminum plate up with a C clamp holding both to either side of a 1/4" thick steel plate so there was a 1/4" gap between the steel and aluminum, Steel was the first target in line.

And here it the results. The bigger hole is from the .22 to the right of it is a hole from a .223 (not related to this test, I aimed near it for a comparison.)

The bullet actually wedged itself into the aluminum divot ( I could not remove it, even with high heat and trying to scrape it out)

The other side of the aluminum, it bulged out almost 1/4" and it made over a 2 inch diameter circle for the total area bulged out.

Shooting stuff is fun, And I'm going to pick up more of this ammo!

Crime happens...

The only ways to prevent it are first and foremost not becoming a victim, Which means arming thyself or at the very least taking classes on self defense, in which case you're still "arming" yourself in a sense. The next but least reliable source of preventing and stopping crime or being a victim of a crime is to count on others including the police to save you.

Sadly you cannot count on either, the police response time is almost always going to be too late, and civilians generally are too busy filming your situation on their cellphone camera to give a shit. So we the wise people arm ourselves, not only with firearms, but pepper spray, knives and the knowledge that almost anything can be used as a weapon.

Here is a sad story that you've head a hundred times already, yet it keeps happening... I had a former coworker who worked a second job as a pizza delivery guy, he got robbed the same exact way. Delivery at a house that turned out to be vacant, Luckily he was not shot or harmed otherwise. This young lady was not so lucky.

I've seen some pizza companies double up people for night time deliveries, especially to crappy neighborhoods. I've seem to remember a story a while back of a pizza delivery guy who was fired for defending himself with a firearm. You know what I always say?

Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six!

It is well known that California is one of the worst states for gun owners and their constitutional right to own and especially bear arms, This story and the videos within it show you just a little of how the mindset is out there.

You'll notice the difference in peoples views, The one middle aged gentleman was unaware of the laws but not opposed to the people carrying openly, He even pondered if the law is the same for the .22 caliber rifle he owns. Then there was the middle aged woman who was more or less shocked and was obviously the type of person the brady campaign loves to get on their side, She said "I'm against them having a gun outside, Because she's not used to seeing things like that" then she goes on "I wouldn't want my children to see that"

Then there is Griffin Dix of the Brady campaign who says "they're carrying guns to intimidate people, and it makes them less safe"

Thankfully there was the unbiased kid who though it was cool and even mentioned that her uncle was going to teach her to shoot on/after her eleventh birthday. Also there was the guy who felt safer in their presence. He even stated that they were not the stereotypical hollywood gun nut, And that he'd feel "quite comfortable with then being good friends of his"

Although these people are now banned from Peets, and CPK (while openly carrying) because their respective owners evidently suffer from hoplophobia. And while I would argue that in the second video the office should have no right to stop someone who chooses to OC, He was tactful and didn't display much stupidity with the mans firearm, He kept his booger hook off the bang switch and actually knew how to work the action.

Perhaps someday in the near future our fellow gunnies who live in Cali or are otherwise stuck there will be able to appreciate the same freedoms that those of us in free states already do.

While you're at it, go prod ErnestThing to get out of Kommiefornistan already...

Common sense laws

You hear the call all the time from those who would ban guns. “We need to have common sense gun laws!”

Well I agree, we do need common sense gun laws.

For instance, if the barrel on my shotgun is over 18 inches it’s legal. If it’s 17 3/4 inches long I could face 10 years in jail and lose my right to own firearms. That makes no sense.

My car is required by law to have a noise suppressor on it so I don’t annoy the neighbors. My gun is forbidden by law from having one. That makes no sense.

In some states if my rifle has some extra plastic on it, it’s illegal. That makes no sense.

In some states if my pistol is a different color, it’s illegal. That makes no sense.

In some states it’s illegal for me to carry a gun. Criminals don’t obey the law, I do and am unarmed when attacked. That makes no sense.

In some states if my magazine holds ten rounds it’s legal. If it holds eleven it’s illegal. That makes no sense.

In some states if a restaurant makes 50% of its revenue from alcohol it’s legal for me to carry there. If it makes 51% revenue from alcohol it’s not legal for me to carry. That makes no sense.

In my home state it’s legal for me to carry a concealed handgun. It’s illegal for me to openly carry one. That makes no sense.

Some states/cities require you to lock up your firearms while in your own home, leaving you to fumble with locks during a home invasion where a criminal will not have his firearm locked. That makes no sense.

In some states it's legal to own a magazine which holds over 30 rounds, but any evidence of it ever being loaded or inserted into a firearm that it belongs to and I'm a criminal. That makes no sense.

If a machine gun was made in 1985 it is legal for me to own if I pay the tax on it. If it was made in 1987 it is illegal to own. That makes no sense.

Some states only allow you to buy one firearm per month. That makes no sense.

If my revolver uses black powder, it is not considered a firearm. If it uses smokeless powder it is a firearm. That makes no sense.

In most states you can apply for a concealed carry permit, Having to pass a full background check and in some cases being required to receive special training. In many cases that permit is only good in your own home state. Requiring you to take proper steps to unload and lock your legally owned firearm away before crossing state lines. That makes no sense.

So yes, PLEASE. Let’s have some common sense gun laws. We can start by getting rid of all the ones that make no sense.

ARLINGTON, Va. – Ray Vivier had been an adventurer, a Marine veteran who explored the country from South Carolina to Alaska, the father of five children.

The 61-year-old also was a man starting to get his life back together after living for years in a shanty beneath a Cleveland bridge. He had struggled with alcoholism, but by November he had a welding job, friends and a place to stay at a boarding house.

He rescued five people from that house when arsonists set it ablaze — but Vivier couldn't save himself. He and three others died, and two people have been charged in their deaths. Vivier's body, unclaimed and unidentified for weeks, seemed destined for an anonymous, modest burial.

On Friday, Vivier's ashes were inurned at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.

"You can see from what he did that he definitely had a good heart," said Mercedes Cruz, Vivier's ex-wife of 23 years, who attended the funeral with the couple's children. "No matter what our difficulties were in our marriage, I'm very proud of what's happened."

For his grown children — who now are scattered around the country — Vivier had been gone for about 15 years. They know of his heroism now — but they don't know much about the man he was trying to become. They remember their dad's struggles with alcohol and other troubles.

"What I'm trying to get out of this is to have one good, concrete memory that I can have of him for what he did to save those people," said his oldest daughter, Elisha Vivier. "I'm proud of the man that he was becoming."

Vivier was a private in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1965 and 1966, though he didn't see combat. He was stationed at Parris Island, S.C., Cruz said.

After his discharge, Vivier spent years working as a machinist, welder, iron worker and other tough jobs. He loved the outdoors and moved his family from Alaska to Oregon.

"He was just adventurous," Cruz said. "He loved to see different places and see what it was like to live there."

When he was homeless in Cleveland, he was proud to have one of the best shanties around, said Fesco, 29, who met Vivier at a soup kitchen.

"We hit if off right away," she said.

She took Vivier home for Christmas one year and later invited him to her wedding. Vivier was genuine, she said, "a real gentle spirit.

"He was trying to get himself out of some struggles — some struggles with alcohol — and just do better for himself, and he was, which was fantastic," Fesco said.

Ghanbari, who is an ensign in the U.S. Navy, helped arrange for Vivier's remains to be placed in a columbarium wall at Arlington National Cemetery. The site overlooks the Pentagon with the National Cathedral and Washington Monument in the distance.

At the military service, seven Marines fired three rifle shots, and a bugler played taps. Elisha Vivier carried a gold urn with her father's ashes to the wall and placed them inside, alongside the remains of thousands of veterans.

Ray Vivier was quiet, friends said, but people knew who he was. Cleveland City Councilman Joe Cimperman met Vivier years ago while working as a social worker. He said Vivier was quiet, yet kind and compassionate. More than 125 people attended a memorial service weeks after the fire in Cleveland.

"It was a huge blow for the community. This was one of our neighbors who people cared about and knew," Cimperman said. "We're less because he's gone."

For the first time in years Massachusetts has a Republican senator, Scott Brown has given hope to not only the people of MA. But to the people of our great nation. As long as he holds true to his word and breaks the super majority for the health ~~fraud~~ care vote things will be mostly peachy.

So far the man seems to be a listener, He drives his older pickup truck around and actually talks to his people, and according to WeerdBeard he'll spend time to personally read correspondence from people. Picture proof below of JayG and his son with Scott Brown.

The worst fear now is that he turns out like Kirsten Gillibrand and doesn't keep his word, The next thing is the threats from the Democrats that they will pull out all the stops and attempt "budget reconciliation" where they'll only need 51 votes to send the bill along to The presidents desk to be signed or vetoed.

Congratulations go out to JayG & Weerd who are more than ecstatic over this win.

History in the making

Tomorrow could be the day that gives us real hope, or the day that we hang our heads in shame and disbelief. Yes tomorrow is election day for the next senator from MA. Some are calling it the Kennedy seat.

I call this occasion an important turning point for the future of America. The Dems are pulling every scumbag trick they can. Today Montieth wrote about the mindset of these people and it really gives a good indication as to how low they're willing to go in order to screw Scott Brown over.

Will he win? Myself and countless others sure the hell hope so. Hopefully Weerd & JayG have no issues making it to the polls tomorrow.

MAIG lost ground this last election it seems. My count is 473 Mayors on their roster, Last I heard they were touting over 500 members. The Wiki page says as of November 2008 they had 522 and also states that after a "NRA grass roots letter-writing campaign, according to NRA claims, at least 73 mayors have quit the MAIG since September, including 15 in Pennsylvania, alone."

I know that with our former mayor gone that was one less for their cause. Who else has a new mayor, And are they on or off this list?

Also as a last thought, Does MAIG even really have any power/influence other than saying we are "X" number strong and we hate guns?

It's funny how things from days gone by can fit perfectly into the present, New years day the local paper The Toledo Blade reprinted the first edition of their paper from 12-19-1835 and while browsing through it I found a poem titled "Texas War Song" It's perfectly fitting for how most of us feel with our current politicians. I googled it when I returned home only to find it nowhere online and unknown to Alan from #GBC, A Texan and a pretty smart cookie... So I nabbed the copy from my parents and scanned it for your pleasure. :)

Directly under the window is a chest that my great grandfather made, on top are a few of my knives that will be stored elsewhere soon.

I planted some tulip bulbs yesterday in this little 3X5 patch of dirt that sits between my sidewalk and the driveway. Before I could just go ahead and dig holes and drop them in I had to first turn over the soil and rake out all the damn rocks that the previous owner decided to put all over the yard.

See word is from many people that the old owner had two or three huge dogs, great danes and possibly a rottweiler. Mind you we have a decent sized yard, but three big dogs will tear it up in no time. So they put down cheap gravel and also had nice decorative rocks. So anyways I'm getting rocks out and in this tiny patch of land I get at least a five gallon bucket worth, And there is still some smaller stuff I didn't get. Also I went ahead and took off the top 3-4 inches because of the extreme difference in height from the sidewalk to the level of the dirt, Too many times my mower blade had got caught on either rocks or the dirt because of this.

Oh and now the mind boggling question of the day... Who in the hell buries 2 jars of food under a foot of dirt? I decided to poke around one last time for more rocks and hit a jar, luckily it didn't break from my shovel striking it. The second jar was just a few inches apart.

Of course I got photos, and even some of the contents, or goo if you will...

the lid one this one says pickles.. but it smells like apple cider and actually doesn't stink.

I can't read anything on this one as far as what it once was... But wow it stunk! the lid has the expiration date of 2006

First off, I wish you all a safe and happy thanksgiving. This craptastic economy & all the strife we deal with anyways is a perfect time to get the family & friends together to relax and fill yourself till you nearly burst.

I'll be quite busy over the next four days with family gatherings, a range date, a party I'm hosting, my mother has plans for us to join them for either a movie or off to the local country bar. And finally back to work Saturday night. Plus somewhere in there my woman expects me to do more work on our home. HA!

This coming Friday I have a long overdue range date set that will include taking my father (maybe my mother too) my brother & his wife. I'll be taking my Mosin 91/30, Star Super maybe my mossberg 500 and my newest acquisition a Winchester model 67. This belonged to my grandfather who evidently used it for some varmint hunting. I'm pretty sure he didn't use it a lot considering how great of shape the whole gun is in. And without further babbling... A few photos! (links pop)

Happy veterans day! I'm not going to even attempt to put into words how proud I am of our servicemen of the past, present and future. My Grandfather served in WW2 in the pacific, and my brother along with his lovely wife are both enlisted, He's been to Djibouti Africa and she's been to Turkey, Iraq twice, and a couple other places.

Wherever you've served, and even if you've never been shipped over seas, Your dedication and the fact that you signed up is one of the greatest acts of patriotism you can do.

In other news, Last night I started to feel ill, Today I'm full on sick. Sore throat, whole body aches, chills, sinus headache. Ugh. Hopefully I can manage to get through work the next few days while I get better.

Pro tip- Room mates suck! This chick needs to learn to clean and get off her ass during the day. How can anyone possibly sit on their ass everyday, after work or as soon as she gets up And watch movies all day long, play on the internet at the same time and not clean her disaster of a room.

Well you could say this past week has been full of major events. The tragic Ft. Hood shooting that ideally should not of been near as bad as it was, provided our soldiers while stateside and on base didn't have that pesky no gun rule to follow. Injecting my own {deep} personal thoughts here... My brother and sister in law would of been stationed at this base had it not been for the current legal matter they are dealing with in Illinois. They were due to report over a year ago but because of the legal issues they are stuck till it's finished. So while my family has been dealing with the stress of this case for over a year, It might also just be a blessing because they're not in TX. at Ft. Hood.

Then there was the shooting in Florida by a disgruntled ex employee who was fired in 2007 and waited till now to act. Sadly I didn't hardly see anyone mention this story because, Well Fort Hood is way more important in the eyes of the MSM.

Oh and then there was last night, Pelosi pulled a quick one on America and called for a midnight vote on Obamas health care reform. It passed the house 220-215 with one Republican vote from U.S. Rep. Anh "Joseph'' Cao, R-New Orleans. And of course because of his vote they call it bi-partisan...

Oh and let it be known he didn't vote at all till enough votes to pass it had already been cast. But least he showed where he truly stands!

Call your congress critters first chance you get tomorrow and let them know exactly how you feel.

Here is yet another reason we should be allowed to CCW while on a boat, I'm an avid fisherman... And even though I have my CCW I cannot carry on a boat effectively. Why? Because this is the law.

The firearm is unloaded and carried in a closed package, box, or case or ..
The firearm is in plain sight with the action open or the weapon stripped.

I suppose if I were to follow this law and keep the gun "in plain sight with the action open" but with a loaded mag nearby then it would be nearly as effective as carrying in condition 1 or 2. But that's only if I'm out on the open water and not a sitting duck at the dock.

Plus who wants to keep their firearm out in the open when you're surrounded by water! One big wave hitting just right and the thing could get soaked or worse yet knocked off the boat. Maybe I'll look into getting this law changed...

You might as well have an infomercial announcer saying "This can be all yours for the low low price of $90 Billion a year" What happens after 10 years? It costs nothing? Also keep in mind that this monetary figure of $900 billion is only a guesstimate.

Thirdly "A video posted on YouTube by Minority Whip Eric Cantor's office depicted a Republican staffer attempting to attend the press conference and being turned away by a police officer" I suppose this is further proof of their bias...

The Centers for Disease Control recommend that children ages 6 months through 18 years of age receive a vaccination against the H1N1 flu virus. At this time only children with chronic medical conditions are receiving the vaccination because their immune system is not strong enough to fight off the strain. The CDC also says a regular seasonal flu shot does not protect against the virus.

It seems president obama has a record level of death threats against him, You wonder why? He's pissing off Americans more than just about any president ever has. Of course because of his mixed race you have the hardcore crazy racists who are enraged at the thought of a black man in charge.

But what it all comes down to is his ideals, his blatant lying, and the Democratic party cronies (being pushed by him and his cabinet) rallying to pass so many laws that are filled with more taxes and take away our rights.

The economy is so terrible across this country that people have nowhere to turn and simply can't count on the government to help! Although there are plenty of people living off them quite well. People who have ran out of unemployment benefits have simply given up even looking for jobs because of how bad things are.

I believe that we are on the edge of a new revolution, I'd discuss my theory on how that might play out... but ideas are a dime a dozen and I won't claim to be an expert on the matter. Personally I think that with how things have been building for the last few years and the laws passed and abandoned since then and the continuing of that process with our current representatives, Revolution is welcomed.

I can understand that shining a laser at a helicopter is a bad idea and you'll face the charges if you do so, Such as this guy here learned. But this gentleman in the UK was arrested (and possibly faces 2 years in jail) for shining a regular flashlight at an apache which was hovering 10 feet above his property in the middle of the night. Seriously?

I call bullshit on either a laser or a flashlight blinding someone from a few seconds of it being in their eyes. And I certainly don't think that the pilot would all of a sudden lose control and crash because he has to blink, or at worse jerk his head to the side. But certainly in this case the home owner deserves an apology, not jail time!

He said he can still arrest immigrants under a state smuggling law and a federal law that gives all local police agencies more limited power to detain suspected illegal immigrants.

While I can certainly understand that our government really cares about our health {insert sarcastic voice here} There is absolutely no reason they should have any say in what a person chooses to do with their body. Whether it's smoking, drinking, or excessive eating. And of course there is also people who just have less than perfect health due to older age or any number of conditions.

Justice Ginsburg is not doing so well. Although she's already against our collective right as citizens to legally bare arms, This means she'll probably be either stepping down as a supreme court justice or she'll stay on and pass away within months. She has cancer. Recently we've all seen a well know and liked actor by the name of Patrick Swayze pass away after a long and hard fight against it.

Who will be the next appointed as a Justice? Will they be better on gun rights? Or worse...

I'm guessing the latter.
